The Refuge at Springtime

Spring has sprung at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge!
This tree was full of singing meadowlarks...

And, as always, there were a few on the ground along the auto tour to sing to us as we drove by...
Lots of sparrows were hiding in the reeds and branches along the way...

There are plenty of Red-winged Blackbirds at the refuge, too.

And the Avocets have finally arrived!
What a beautiful day for birding...
