The 10-mile auto tour at the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge is plenty long enough to see a variety of birds!
We saw lots of grebes, ruddy ducks, and were lucky to spot a blue heron fishing from along the side of the road. He flew away when we approached, but not before we got this beautiful photo of him gliding effortlessly above the water!
And I had a swan sighting! He was all by himself, surrounded by a bunch of ducks, bobbing for food...
