Majestic Waterbirds

The Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge is a huge expanse of open spaces and breathtaking scenery.

We spotted these American White Pelicans in with the Coots, Grebes and Wigeons...

The last time we saw pelicans, they had the large plates on their bills that they have during courtship. They look so slender without them!

It's impossible to feel closed-in and claustrophobic at a place like Tule Lake!
