Lower Klamath Birds of Prey

Boy, did we see a lot of hawks during our latest visit to the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge!

Right when we turned onto the auto tour, we spotted this red-tailed nestled in a leafy tree...

The refuge is still dry and dead from the long summer, but there are some spots of water and areas in the process of being flooded for the big winter migration.

Soon the landscape will be green and teeming with birds and ducks!

 Tomorrow, our drive through the refuge continues with juveniles galore...
