Hello Hawk

We spotted a Red-shouldered Hawk on the auto tour at the Colusa National Wildlife Refuge...

Keep in mind that the photos are shadowy and darker than normal because the sky in our area has been greatly affected by the Carr and Mendocino fires. (Read the full post about how the fires have affected us here.)

During this time of year in the middle of summer, most of the grass at the refuge is dead and brown. However, we did see quite a few little blooms here and there.
Even if these flowers are considered weeds, they are pretty all the same...
