We see a lot of red-tailed hawks in our area, but when we spotted this guy on the
Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge auto tour, we knew he was a little different...
According to our Merlin Bird ID app, he is a Red-shouldered Hawk...
He sort of looks like a juvenile to me because of his puffy feathers, but I've been known to be wrong about ID'ing birds a time or two in the past!
