Nature: An Original Duckumentary

As you probably already know, I'm a romance author. I'm also an avid birder, so I try to work birds and birdwatching into my books whenever I can. (In Wild Ice I wrote about an ornithologist who finds love on a wildlife refuge.) But this post isn't about me!!!

While doing research for an upcoming book where the hero sets off on a Big Year, I came across the neatest documentary about ducks. And the best part is that it's called a DUCKumentary. Brilliant!

The DVD wasn't very expensive and it was full of lovely photography and even showed day-old wood ducks leaving the nest from 70 feet off the ground. You'll learn about lots of different ducks and  I thought it was particularly refreshing that they left out any footage of them meeting the Grim Reaper. (I know it's all apart of the circle of life, but for once I liked not being reminded that the birds of prey I find so beautiful and fascinating eat pretty pintails and cute little ruddy ducks!)

Check out this DUCKumentary (sorry, I had to get that clever name in one more time!) and let me know if you like it as much as I did.

Quackingly yours,
Rachelle
