So, I know that pelicans grow a large plate on their bill for spring courtship, but I learned something new today...
...both sexes shed the plate after their eggs are laid!
How amazing is that? Pretty amazing. But, then again, we already know how amazing birds are or else we wouldn't drive around looking for them so we can take photos, add them to our lifelists, and listen to their pretty songs!
