If you follow my blog, you know we've been spending a lot of time in
Lassen Volcanic National Park. Not only is the park insanely beautiful, but it's also about twenty degrees cooler up in the mountains than it is down here in the valley. And since we're at the tail end of a summer that refuses to give into Autumn and the call of pumpkin spice and hot beverages, there's no place I'd rather be than at 7400 foot elevation!
Here are a few of the birds that were cooperative enough to let me take their picture during our hike to
Cold Boiling Lake...

White-crowned Sparrow |
|
Red-breasted Nuthatch |
THIS is not a bird, but it sure looked like one with the naked eye!
|
Pine cone mimicking a Snowy Owl to give unsuspecting birders a thrill |
|
Golden-crowned Sparrow |
