Birding at Gray Lodge Wildlife Area - Part Six

Great Blue Heron vs. Double-crested Cormorant

Who would win? Well, we got to find out the answer while we were at the Gray Lodge Wildlife Area.

Out in the water, a group of cormorants were perched on some tree branches...
And along came a heron who apparently wanted to see what all the fuss was about...
He "convinced" the cormorant to give up his spot and that was the end of that.

He looks pretty proud of himself...

 Here's a view of the group from the other side of the walking trail...
We had the most wonderful weather during our visit to Gray Lodge and the clouds were just as picturesque as the birds!
