Didn't expect to see a juvenile bald eagle on the auto tour at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refute, so that was a nice surprise!

American Bittern Sighting ~ Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Auto Tour
What an absolute delight to see an American Bittern on the auto tour at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge!
He looked a little grumpy to see us, so we took a few photos and moved on down the road...

Adventures on Hold
😧 I've run out of posts!
Because I've put my adventures on hold in the hopes of staying safe and healthy, you might not see any new posts or videos from me for a while. I hope the Wings and Daydreams hiatus isn't going to be a long one and I hope to get out exploring beautiful Northern California sooner rather than later.
Until then, you can still enjoy my bird photography over on Instagram and Twitter where I'll be sharing never-before-seen shots of my past birding adventures...
Be safe, birding friends! 😊

*All of my photos were taken before the coronavirus outbreak. I am now staying home and postponing my outdoor birding adventures to help prevent the spread/exposure of COVID-19.
Please be responsible and practice social distancing at all times and stay home whenever possible.

Acorn Woodpeckers ~ Battle Creek Wildlife Area Birdwatching
We kept hearing Acorn Woodpeckers during our walk through the Battle Creek Wildlife Area (in early-March), but didn't spot any...until we realized their granary tree was right there at the entrance to the parking area!
Let's go birding!
